Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Data Analyst for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients. This is a hybrid position at any of the client's office sites.

We are looking for a professional with strong problem solving and data analytics talent and experience. As a Data Analyst, you will leverage analytic and technical skills to design, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities which address business problems and help regulatory staff make better informed decisions. This role will also develop scalable analytics solutions and web applications using Dataiku, build business intelligence solutions using tools including Amazon QuickSight and Microsoft Power BI, and enable team adoption through clear documentation, knowledge sharing, and hands-on training.

Our mission is to provide operational insights and metrics that inform leadership decisions, identify program trends, and surface emerging risks - all in service of amplifying the firm's ability to protect investors, uphold market integrity and manage risk.

Responsibilities :
  • Designing and developing interactive dashboards, reporting solutions, and decision-support tools that transform complex business and membership data into actionable insights, utilizing technologies including Microsoft Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, and VBA.
  • Executing analytics projects including non-analytical tasks, such as data sourcing, documentation etc.
  • Creating user documentation and delivering hands-on training, demonstrations, and knowledge-transfer sessions so team members can effectively use and support the developed solutions
  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Dataiku workflows, reusable analytics components, and web applications that support business and regulatory needs
  • Accessing and compiling large volumes of custom and syndicated data from disparate sources into concise and precise information
  • Developing process maps for complex business functions and documenting business requirements to support project needs
  • Developing end-to-end workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, integrating data sources, applications, and business processes to increase efficiency, improve data quality, and reduce operational risk
  • Leveraging existing data using analytical tools and languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS, or SPSS) to perform data manipulation and analysis
  • Designing and developing data-driven analysis using statistical & advanced analytics methodologies to solve business problems
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues to develop proofs of concept that can be converted into production-level applications
  • Presenting prototypes and learnings to stakeholders at all levels across the organization
  • Leveraging experience to ensure consistent data quality
  • Performing research to gain context and meaning of uncultivated data sets
  • Supporting the importance of repeatable data processes, data integrity and cleanliness, and strategic use of data
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent/related degree required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Basic business process mapping and requirements gathering/documentation skills
  • Banking or Broker-Dealer product knowledge i.e., capital markets/ core banking offerings is a plus
  • 3+ years' experience writing complex SQL queries working with relational databases
  • Visualization and business analytic tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos Analytics, VBA, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with the Dataiku data science platform, including development of data workflows, reusable analytical solutions, and Dataiku web applications
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight to design and develop dashboards, visual analytics, and business intelligence solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to document technical solutions and train team members with varying levels of technical expertise on Dataiku, Amazon QuickSight, and related analytics tools
  • Experience developing and supporting user-friendly web applications or analytical interfaces that translate business requirements into scalable solutions
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and collaborator in a fast-paced proof of concept development environment
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Experience working with analysts in a research/modeling environment that leverages tools such as R and/or Python
