Security Analyst - File Share

Job Title: Access Governance / File Share Security Analyst (Operational role)

Location: Westerville OH

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Data Governance Analyst to support execution of governance controls across enterprise file share environments. This role focuses on data access governance, compliance monitoring, audit support, and remediation tracking.

This is more on :

• IAM + File Share Governance
• Audit / Compliance execution
• Tools like Varonis / SharePoint / Windows ACL

Key Responsibilities:

• Access reviews
• Compliance monitoring
• Audit support
• Remediation tracking.

• File systems: Windows / NAS / SharePoint
• Tools: ServiceNow, Power BI, SQL
• Preferred: Varonis, Netwrix, SailPoint or (Netwrix / SailPoint / Purview)
• Execute governance controls related to data access, retention, and security policies
• Perform access reviews and permission validation across file share environments (Windows, NAS, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Monitor compliance dashboards to identify non-compliant access, oversharing, and policy violations
• Support audit requests, evidence collection, and control testing (SOX, PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
• Track and coordinate remediation activities with data owners, SMEs, and security teams
• Enforce least privilege access (PoLP) and role-based access controls (RBAC)
• Support onboarding and validation of new file share/data environments
• Maintain governance trackers, KPIs, and audit-ready documentation
• Run predefined reports and support ongoing compliance monitoring activities

Required Skills

Experience in Access Governance / IAM / Data Security / IT Governance

Hands-on experience with:

• File share environments (Windows, NAS, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Access controls (ACLs, RBAC, permissions, identity lifecycle)

Experience with:

• Access reviews / entitlement reviews
• Audit support, compliance monitoring, and reporting

Familiarity with tools such as:  

• ServiceNow (tracking, workflows)
• Power BI / SQL (reporting & dashboards)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Varonis or similar tools (Netwrix, SailPoint, Microsoft Purview)
• Exposure to data security, data classification, or retention policies
• Experience in regulated environments (Banking, Healthcare, etc.)
