Job#: 3018671 Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Release Management within Product & Data Engineering, the Senior Release Manager will expand and centralize release coordination and communication across multiple streaming and digital platforms. This role adds rigor to executive-level escalations and notifications and provides enhanced integration oversight as the organization transitions from platform-based squads to cross-platform program delivery. The Senior Release Manager will also lead discipline-wide upskilling initiatives to ensure consistent, seamless release and deployment practices across all programs.
This is a mid-level individual contributor role. Individual performance and team impact will inform future growth opportunities within Product & Data Engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Drive procedural excellence and execute end-to-end Release Management plans and processes for the assigned brand or platform.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans, schedules, processes, and documentation in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Identify release risks and dependencies; collaborate across functions to proactively mitigate issues.
- Enhance program and release criteria while defining and tracking quality-improvement metrics.
- Deliver clear, timely communication on release progress, milestones, and changes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Serve as an integrator across diverse initiatives to optimize operations and improve efficiency within Product Design, Program Management, and Software Engineering.
- Apply data-driven insights to assess service, deployment, and release health.
- Establish and maintain communication structures, systems, and templates that promote procedural clarity across teams and departments.
- Conduct both tactical and strategic analyses across business units to support decision-making and operational excellence.
- Mentor cross-discipline team members to uphold Release Management best practices and standardized processes.
Candidate Profile & Requirements- Strong experience in release management.
- Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence; strong meeting facilitation skills.
- Airtable experience is a plus (preferred but not required).
- Scrum certification is optional.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience, though strong candidates with fewer years will be considered.
Additional Information- This is a 12-month contract role with potential for extension or conversion to full-time, subject to headcount and budget.
- The interview process includes a writing sample, followed by initial and panel interviews.
- The target is to fill the role as soon as possible, ideally before the end of the year, with interviews beginning after the holiday week.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in change management.
- Strong Airtable experience.
- Familiarity with existing internal procedures and corporate operating models.
