Summary

Manages configuration and upkeep of computer systems, administers technology, performs regular assessments to ensure effective operation, and documents best practices.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design, install, and configure internal and customer-facing servers.
  2. Administers and supports core technologies, such as VMware, Azure, Microsoft servers, Office 365, and third-party applications.
  3. Assists with the design and implementation of monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions that result in a robust environment which provides maximum systems availability (24x7x365).
  4. Upholds testing procedures that ensure effective disaster recovery capabilities. Performs regular risk assessments. Completes daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery types or disks are created, and media is recycled or replicated offsite as necessary.
  5. Provides after-hours support for Infrastructure-related emergencies and routine weekend maintenance. Potential for 24x7 on call responsibilities.
  6. Assists with internal and external systems security, patch management, and access control. Upholds company policies and procedures to ensure systems security.
  7. Monitors existing network systems and develops modifications to meet business needs.
  8. Manages storage and server infrastructure, including bare metal and virtual.
  9. Documents best practices and support procedures. Maintains inventory and system configuration documentation.


Job Skills Requirements

  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, server environments, data centers, cloud technologies, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Three years of experience in the information technology space.
