Job Description:

POSITION GOAL

To maintain and monitor data management systems for threat management requirements to ensure compliance with district and state policies and data entry processes.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Data Management Specialist, Behavioral Threat Assessment shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below:
  • Oversee the entry of data into the electronic management systems and ensure compliance.
  • Analyze and maintain student data, review data with staff for compliance and quality improvement.
  • Maintain data management systems and student databases for all electronic threat management databases ensuring accuracy and security of data.
  • Assist in monitoring of daily compliance with threat management data entry requirements and policy timelines.
  • Prepare and present data reports, charts, graphs, presentations, and spreadsheets as required for compliance and review.
  • Provide administrative data processing support and system data management; perform analysis of student data to identify trends and variances and implement corrective action.
  • Provide technical support to school and district staff in utilization of electronic databases for threat management data entries. Respond to requests for assistance from schools, departments, and others; analyze details of problems to determine solutions and cooperate with and advise customers until issues are resolved.
  • Provide direct technical and applications assistance to end-users.
  • Trouble-shoot user incidents to isolate technical causes and escalate to appropriate staff and follow up for resolution.
  • Accurately record user incidents in district tracking system and monitor progress towards resolution; maintain incident tracking reports on a regular basis.
  • Interact with district department and vendors to resolve end-user issues.
  • Operate a variety of standard office equipment as well as applications which may be developed or advanced from future technology as required by the job.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure compliance with threat management timelines and requirements.
  • Share compliance of data entry with supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
  • Participate in training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years of experience related to the title of the position.
  • Knowledge of data management applications and other related technology.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, analytical, and evaluation skills.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An earned master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Bilingual skills.

SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose

Works closely with school administrators and staff, District departments, District administrators/staff to ensure threat management processes in the electronic threat management system are implemented with fidelity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
