Summary

Overview

Company Overview

Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.

Position Summary

V2X is seeking a highly motivated and technically versatile Multi-Disciplined Engineer II to support the development, integration, sustainment, and modernization of complex military training and instrumentation systems.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering professional with a broad technical background spanning hardware, software, radio frequency (RF) systems, cybersecurity, lifecycle/reliability engineering, information technology, data analysis, and hardware design and prototyping.

This position requires an adaptable problem-solver capable of working across multiple engineering disciplines, independently investigating complex technical challenges, developing innovative solutions, and implementing improvements to existing systems. The successful candidate will be a key technical contributor supporting a diverse range of engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on engineering, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of complex hardware, software, RF, and IT systems
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues spanning multiple disciplines, including hardware failures, software defects, network connectivity, RF performance, and system interoperability
  • Design, develop, modify, and integrate hardware and software solutions to address operational requirements and improve system performance
  • Support system and network administration, including Windows and Linux environments, network infrastructure, virtualization, and associated technologies
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity activities, including DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security configuration management
  • Perform RF system analysis, testing, and troubleshooting, including antenna systems, RF coverage, interference, and communications infrastructure
  • Develop scripts, utilities, and software tools to automate processes, analyze data, troubleshoot problems, and improve operational efficiency
  • Collect, process, and analyze technical and operational data to identify trends, diagnose performance issues, and develop actionable engineering solutions
  • Develop 3D models, design mechanical components, and utilize additive manufacturing (3D printing) to prototype, modify, or replace system components
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products for potential integration into existing systems
  • Participate in system upgrades, technology refresh initiatives, engineering modifications, and lifecycle sustainment activities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering procedures, test plans, and system configuration records
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other technical personnel to resolve complex problems and implement practical engineering solutions

Qualifications

Required:
  • Demonstrated experience performing hands-on engineering, system integration, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Broad technical knowledge encompassing hardware, software, computer systems, networking, RF technologies, and related engineering principles
  • Experience administering, configuring, or troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux operating systems and networked computing environments
  • Experience with software development, scripting, or automation using languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and Information Assurance principles, including system hardening, vulnerability management, and DoD RMF requirements
  • Working knowledge of RF communications systems, including basic RF principles, antennas, signal propagation, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data to support engineering decisions and problem resolution
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, including the ability to investigate unfamiliar technologies and develop effective technical solutions
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple technical assignments, and rapidly acquire proficiency with new systems and technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings and communicate solutions effectively
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-15%, as required

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in a related STEM discipline and 1+ years of relevant experience.

Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required due to customer and security requirements.

Desired:
  • Experience supporting DoD training, instrumentation, simulation, communications, or mission-support systems
  • Experience with electronic hardware troubleshooting, circuit analysis, component-level diagnostics, and engineering test equipment
  • Experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting, including routers, switches, VLANs, firewalls, and TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and server infrastructure
  • Practical experience supporting DoD RMF processes, including STIG implementation, vulnerability scanning, security assessments, and remediation activities
  • Experience with RF coverage analysis, spectrum management, antenna selection, RF test equipment, and interference troubleshooting
  • Experience developing or modifying software applications, integrating APIs, working with databases, or implementing automated data-processing solutions
  • Experience with data analysis tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, Excel, and data visualization platforms
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar modeling applications
  • Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, rapid prototyping design
