Description
We're seeking a skilled Database Developer to join a dynamic team based in Jacksonville, Florida. This contract role-with the potential to convert to a long-term position-offers the opportunity to design, build, and optimize database solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about database architecture, performance, and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement robust database architectures and system-level interfaces
Provide technical leadership in database architecture, design, and development best practices
Develop, enhance, and maintain complex database structures within Microsoft SQL Server environments
Partner with application development teams to ensure alignment with database standards and performance goals
Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, including system designs and specifications
Leverage modern tools and techniques to improve development efficiency and support project objectives
Deliver solutions using agile methodologies, ensuring on-time and high-quality outcomes
Optimize database performance through efficient queries, indexing, and stored procedures
Support integration, testing, and deployment activities to ensure smooth project execution
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database architecture and development across multiple projects
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, source control, and continuous deployment
Proficiency in T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and scripting
Experience with ETL processes and Extract, Transform, Load operations
Solid knowledge of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
Comfortable working in an agile development environment and adapting to changing priorities
