Job Summary
Accelyst is seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Network Specialist to support the design, administration, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across data center and campus environments. This role is responsible for maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable network services while collaborating with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with enterprise routing and switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless networking, load balancing, DNS/IPAM, network security, and automation technologies. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, operational excellence, and a passion for improving network reliability through automation and best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
Enterprise Network Operations
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching infrastructure across data center and campus environments.
- Configure, optimize, and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network services to ensure high availability and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues while minimizing business impact.
- Participate in network capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
Firewall & Network Security
- Manage firewall policies, security rule bases, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) across Cisco and Palo Alto Networks platforms.
- Implement and maintain security policies that align with organizational and compliance requirements.
- Support SSL/TLS inspection, URL filtering, application-layer security, and secure network segmentation.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen enterprise network security posture.
VPN & SD-WAN Administration
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot VPN connectivity and SD-WAN solutions supporting remote offices and distributed users.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing WAN connectivity across enterprise environments.
- Monitor VPN performance and proactively resolve connectivity issues.
Wireless Infrastructure
- Maintain and optimize enterprise wireless networks using HPE Aruba solutions.
- Configure and manage wireless access points, controllers, RF optimization, and wireless security settings.
- Troubleshoot wireless performance, coverage, and client connectivity issues.
Load Balancing & Web Security
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot F5 Load Balancer virtual servers, pools, monitors, and iRules.
- Manage and tune Web Application Firewall (WAF) policies using Imperva and F5 XC platforms.
- Administer Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) proxy policies to enhance web security and user access controls.
DNS & IP Address Management
- Administer DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) using Infoblox.
- Perform DNS zone management, record updates, DHCP administration, and IP allocation.
- Ensure DNS services remain secure, available, and properly documented.
Identity & Network Access Control
- Administer TACACS+ authentication services for secure network device access.
- Maintain authentication policies, troubleshoot access issues, and perform audit activities.
- Support secure administrative access across enterprise network infrastructure.
Network Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, and similar automation tools.
- Build automation playbooks to streamline repetitive operational tasks, improve consistency, and reduce manual effort.
- Utilize REST APIs, NETCONF/YANG, and automation frameworks to integrate with enterprise networking platforms.
- Manage automation code using Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines to support version control and deployment.
Change & Incident Management
- Participate in on-call support rotation and respond to production incidents within established SLA requirements.
- Execute approved infrastructure changes following ITIL-based Change Management processes.
- Utilize ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms for incident, request, problem, and change management activities.
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Collaboration
- Partner with Cloud Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Application Development, and Operations teams to support enterprise initiatives.
- Participate in technology upgrades, infrastructure modernization, security enhancements, and automation projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance network reliability, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirement:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–10 years of progressive hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering or network operations.
- Experience supporting large-scale, multi-vendor enterprise networking environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Aruba Certified Professional, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and enterprise data center environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL service management practices and enterprise operational processes.
