We’re partnering with a venture-backed (Series C) product company building an platform for regulated financial services, starting in the mortgage space.
Rather than modernizing on top of broken legacy systems, this team built and operates its own regulated financial business, managing billions in assets. That hands-on ownership is what allowed them to turn a historically low-margin industry into a high-margin, software-driven operation, while materially improving customer experience.
This is a high-ownership role for engineers who want to work on systems that actually matter production-grade software operating under real regulatory, data, and scale constraints.
You’ll have meaningful influence over architecture, technical direction, and execution. The environment favors engineers who think in systems, challenge assumptions, and take pride in building durable platforms rather than one-off features.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading design and implementation of scalable backend systems and services in a regulated domain
Owning complex workflows that span data ingestion, processing, and automation
Translating regulatory and business constraints into clean, extensible architectures
Partnering with Product and Design to shape technical direction and execution
Setting engineering standards, reviewing designs, and raising the technical bar
Mentoring engineers and contributing to a strong ownership-driven culture

Senior Level:
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Proven track record building and owning production systems
Experience working on complex, data-heavy, or regulated platforms
Strong systems thinking and ability to drive projects end to end
Staff Level:
8+ years of experience with significant architectural ownership
History of designing systems that scale across teams and domains
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing technical direction
