Role Overview
This role is for an experienced Geospatial Solution Architect responsible for designing and integrating enterprise-grade GIS solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise in an onsite environment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The position focuses on building scalable geospatial architectures, integrating GIS with enterprise systems, and supporting transportation data workflows. The job is open to candidates within the 100 miles radius of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end geospatial solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise
Develop scalable architecture frameworks, integration strategies, and technical roadmaps
Integrate GIS with enterprise systems using APIs, ETL/ELT, and messaging patterns
Build and maintain geospatial data models, geodatabases, and LRS-enabled datasets
Develop automation workflows using Python, SQL, and geoprocessing tools
Support GIS cloud migration, system optimization, and performance monitoring
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, developers, and business stakeholders
Lead technical design sessions and define system integration requirements
Ensure compliance with transportation GIS standards and data governance practices
Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to GIS modernization strategies
Required Skills (with Years)
Transportation-focused GIS experience using ArcGIS Enterprise 5+ years
Enterprise system integration (APIs, REST/SOAP, data pipelines)
Esri stack expertise (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)
Programming (Python, SQL, JavaScript) and geospatial automation (ArcPy)
Spatial data modeling and enterprise geodatabases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
Experience integrating GIS with asset management, traffic, or planning systems
Knowledge of data governance, metadata, and GIS security practices
Experience with enterprise GIS modernization or cloud initiatives
Understanding of Agile/Scrum or ITIL methodologies
Preferred Skills
Experience with tools like FME, ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Python API, and Velocity
Familiarity with transportation data standards (HPMS, MIRE, ARNOLD)
Knowledge of real-time data integration and spatial analytics
Experience with DevOps and version control tools like Git
Exposure to AI/ML applications in geospatial or mobility analytics
