Summary

A senior cloud engineering opportunity is available with an enterprise financial organization undertaking a significant Azure modernization initiative.

This role will take ownership of designing and building enterprise-grade Azure environments, with a strong focus on security, scalability, resilience, and automation. You'll work extensively with Azure, Azure Databricks, Terraform, CI/CD tooling, PowerShell, and Python while helping establish cloud platform standards and engineering practices.

The position is well suited to an experienced platform engineer who enjoys building environments from the ground up and influencing technical direction. This is a 6-month contract operating on a hybrid basis in Downtown Toronto with a competitive contract rate.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep Microsoft Azure expertise, including hands-on experience architecting and building enterprise cloud environments from the ground up, with strong knowledge of networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code and automation experience using Terraform, including the development of reusable and maintainable cloud infrastructure patterns.
  • Proven experience administering and deploying Azure Databricks environments alongside implementing CI/CD pipelines and mature DevOps practices.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Advanced PowerShell experience for Azure platform administration, provisioning, and operational automation.
  • Strong Python scripting skills for infrastructure, platform, and workflow automation.
  • Experience leading or playing a senior technical role in cloud modernization programs, including establishing scalable platform standards and engineering practices.
