A technology solutions company based in Willowbrook, Illinois is seeking a Field Technician to support the installation, integration, and deployment of advanced security and surveillance systems across Department of Defense (DoD) and nuclear industry sites nationwide. This position requires up to 70% travel to customer and government locations-including high-security facilities in states such as New York, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. When not traveling, the technician will work onsite at the company's Willowbrook, IL office. Due to the sensitive nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.
As a Field Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of complex systems, performing hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of technologies such as IP cameras, intrusion and fire systems, home security devices, and both analog and digital CCTV. - 2+ years of experience in a hands-on technical or field engineering role within electrical, security, or surveillance systems.
- Experience deploying and maintaining IP cameras, CCTV (analog and digital), fire/intrusion systems, or similar electronic security hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD layouts.
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment used in system installation and verification.
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to test and document one's own work thoroughly.
- Comfort working in high-security or regulated environments with strict compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% to customer and partner sites.
- Prior experience supporting or deploying technology within the DoD, nuclear, or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and IP-based system configuration.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and on-site collaboration.
- Familiarity with documentation standards, QA processes, and structured testing methods.
