Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Partnering with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase. Developing measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scale. Developing and implementing groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics. Compiling and evaluating data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Leading activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields. Collaborating with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Coordinating and prioritizing all Quality Engineering functions for multiple programs for team members. Expanding the capabilities of the team and recruiting new engineers. Establishing audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure alignment to Apple quality standards. Evaluating and communicating yields of new and existing processes. Driving corrective actions with internal and external team members. International travel required 15%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,443 - $201,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Experience and/or education must include:

Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts.

Mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.

GD&T experience, reading engineering drawings, and familiarity with measurement systems OMM and CMM.

Project management experience and understanding of problem solving tools including design of experiments (DOE), root cause analysis and statistical analytical tools.

Experience with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic parts, or automotive high volume quality manufacturing engineering.

Developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts with our cross-functional manufacturing team.

Conducting 1D and 3D tolerance stack analysis and using statistical data to make manufacturing process improvement recommendations.
