ERP Testing & Quality Assurance Lead — Banner / Higher Education

About the Role
Data Capital Inc. is seeking an ERP Testing and QA Lead with Ellucian Banner and higher education background to plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end testing for a major cloud Finance and HCM ERP implementation at a large R1 public university in Virginia. Your Banner functional knowledge is the key — you''''ll translate real university business processes into meaningful test scenarios that ensure nothing falls through the cracks at go-live.

What You''''ll Do

• Develop and own the end-to-end Test Strategy covering SIT, UAT, Regression, and Payroll Parallel Testing
• Translate Banner Finance and HCM processes into comprehensive test scripts for the new cloud ERP
• Coordinate and manage university functional staff participation in UAT — scheduling, training testers, tracking execution, and managing defects
• Lead Payroll Parallel Testing — coordinate parallel runs between Banner and new ERP, reconcile variances, and obtain sign-off
• Manage defect lifecycle — logging, prioritizing, tracking, and verifying fixes
• Support cutover rehearsal testing and go-live readiness assessment

What You Need

• 5+ years ERP testing experience — Finance and/or HCM modules
• Direct hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner Finance or HCM functional processes
• Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases for large ERP implementations
• Experience managing UAT with non-technical business users in a university setting
• Knowledge of Payroll Parallel Testing methodology and reconciliation
• Experience with defect management tools — JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar

Nice to Have

• Direct experience at a Virginia public university (VT, UVA, VCU, GMU, ODU)
• Higher education finance and HR domain knowledge — fund accounting, grants, faculty payroll
• Experience with automated testing tools for cloud ERP platforms
• ISTQB or similar testing certification
