Description

We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to provide hands-on technical support for end users in Anderson, South Carolina. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving hardware and software issues, preparing devices for employees, and keeping desktop operations running smoothly in an onsite environment. The role supports daily IT service needs through device setup, troubleshooting, ticket coordination, and asset tracking while delivering responsive service to internal users.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and related equipment for new employees and current employees needing replacements or upgrades.

Image and set up company laptops and workstations to ensure devices are ready for user productivity and aligned with internal standards.

Troubleshoot technical issues involving end-user hardware, operating systems, and installed applications, resolving problems in a timely manner.

Install, update, and maintain desktop software and Windows-based systems across the supported user environment.

Administer support requests through ServiceNow by monitoring the incident queue, resolving tickets directly, or routing them appropriately.

Communicate progress clearly by documenting troubleshooting steps, status updates, and final resolutions within support tasks and tickets.

Issue encryption-related access information to authorized users when needed and assist with related support questions.

Track technology assets, maintain inventory records, and monitor stock levels for computer supplies and support equipment.

Provide input on hardware needs by identifying when replacement devices or additional equipment should be purchased.

Assist with general desktop support duties as assigned, including break/fix support and equipment transport when required.

Preferred skills: Intune MDM, Duo MFA, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID

Requirements

Associate degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience in desktop support or IT end-user services.

At least 2 years of experience supporting desktop hardware, software installation, imaging, and troubleshooting in a business environment.

Working knowledge of desktop imaging, computer setup, hardware deployment, and break/fix support procedures.

Preferred skills: Intune MDM, Duo MFA, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID

Experience using a ticketing platform such as ServiceNow to manage incidents, updates, and issue resolution.

Familiarity with Windows operating systems, desktop application installation, password assistance, and basic technical troubleshooting.

CompTIA A+ certification preferred.

Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 pounds and push a cart containing IT hardware as needed.

Comfortable working onsite Monday through Friday and spending extended periods at a desk or on a computer.
