About the Role
ScaleHealthTech is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Workday Architect to support health system focused Workday consulting and transformation initiatives. This is a remote opportunity for a seasoned and experienced Workday professional who has consistently worked in the health system settings. Should have experience in designing scalable solutions, guide implementation strategy, support multi site hospital integrations, and help health systems optimize HR, finance, payroll, procurement, workforce planning, and operational workflows.
The ideal candidate has strong Workday architecture experience,health system domain understanding, and the ability to work with executive, functional, and technical stakeholders. This role is best suited for someone who can operate independently, lead solution design, and help health systems turn Workday into a connected platform for workforce intelligence, finance visibility, operational efficiency, and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Workday solution architecture across HCM, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Scheduling, Reporting, and Integration workstreams.
- Design scalable Workday solutions for healthcare organizations, including hospitals, health systems, multi-entity groups, and clinical operations environments.
- Support Workday implementation, optimization, post-go-live support, and enhancement initiatives.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, clinical operations, payroll, supply chain, and executive stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into Workday solutions.
- Design and oversee Workday integrations with EHRs such as Epic and Cerner, payroll systems, HR platforms, finance systems, procurement tools, and clinical applications.
- Support data migration, business process configuration, reporting, security design, testing, deployment, and change management.
- Guide healthcare workforce intelligence initiatives, including workforce planning, labor cost visibility, staffing analytics, operational reporting, and predictive workforce insights.
- Provide architectural oversight for multi-entity Workday environments, M&A consolidation, instance harmonization, and governance models.
- Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements to increase adoption, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with offshore, nearshore, and client-side delivery teams to ensure high-quality, cost-effective execution.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in Workday consulting, ERP transformation, enterprise applications, or HR/Finance systems architecture in the Hospitals and Health system setting.
- Strong hands-on experience with one or more Workday modules such as Workday HCM, Financials, Payroll, Procurement, Time Tracking, Absence, Scheduling, Reporting, or Integrations.
- Should have experience in working with Strada.
- Experience designing Workday architecture for complex organizations with multiple business units, entities, locations, or operating models.
- Strong understanding of Workday business processes, security, reporting, integration architecture, and data flows.
- Experience with Workday integrations using tools such as Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs, calculated fields, and integration security.
- Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, especially with hospitals, health systems, providers, payers, or healthcare services organizations.
- Ability to integrate Workday with systems such as Epic, Cerner, payroll platforms, finance systems, clinical systems, and third-party workforce tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate with CIOs, CHROs, CFOs, ERP directors, HR leaders, finance leaders, and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while maintaining ownership, urgency, and delivery quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday certification in HCM, Financials, Integrations, Reporting, Payroll, or related areas.
- Experience with Workday healthcare workforce planning, labor analytics, scheduling, or operational reporting.
- Prior consulting experience with healthcare clients.
- Experience supporting post-go-live optimization, managed services, or production support.
- Understanding of healthcare workforce challenges, staffing models, labor cost management, clinical operations, and compliance-driven environments.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, multi-entity consolidation, or Workday instance harmonization.
