Role: Sr. Java Developer with Digital Assets exp.
Location: NYC, NY (Onsite/Hybrid)
Duration: Long-term Contract
Employment Type: W2
Technology: Prioritize Java + Spring Boot + Microservices + Kafka + Blockchain/Digital Assets + Financial Services experience.
Domain: Must have exp. with digital assets
Job Description:
Client is expanding its digital asset capabilities, particularly in institutional custody, tokenization, and integrating traditional financial systems with blockchain technology.
For a Java Developer position at client side, Digital Assets experience means experience developing software that supports digital financial assets, blockchain-based transactions, digital asset custody, and tokenized securities.
For a Java Developer supporting client’s Digital Assets team, I would prioritize the following skills.
Core Java development
* Java 11/17/21
* Spring Boot and Spring Microservices
* REST APIs
* Kafka and event-driven architecture
* SQL and database development
* Distributed systems
* Docker and Kubernetes
* Unit testing and CI/CD
Digital Assets experience
* Blockchain fundamentals
* Digital asset custody or wallet infrastructure
* Tokenization of securities or other financial assets
* Blockchain APIs and node integrations
* Smart contract integration
* Cryptographic signing and secure key management
* Transaction lifecycle, validation, and reconciliation
3. What kind of candidate should you submit to client?
I would divide candidates into three categories.
Candidate profile Suitability
Java + Spring Boot + hands-on blockchain development Strong match
Java + banking/financial services + digital asset custody or tokenization Strong match
Java + traditional banking applications, with no blockchain or digital asset exposure Potential match, but digital asset experience needs validation
A candidate does not necessarily need to have developed a cryptocurrency from scratch. Experience building enterprise applications that interact with blockchain networks, digital wallets, tokenized assets, or secure transaction-processing platforms may be relevant.
