Short Description

The IT Project Manager II will serve as a Scrum Master, acting as a servant leader and facilitator for 2–3 Agile teams, ensuring effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles.

 

Job Description

The Scrum Master will act as a servant leader and facilitator for multiple Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum and Kanban practices. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and problem solver who prioritizes team success, removes impediments, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

Liaison & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams
  • Communicate effectively with management, developers, product owners, and support teams
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices, including backlog management, user stories, estimation, and delivery

Agile Delivery

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, demos, and release planning
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
  • Maintain process documentation
  • Ensure adherence to Agile principles: collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and transparency

Application Support

  • Assist with backlog grooming and user story quality
  • Improve communication and transparency across teams
  • Support defect/bug prioritization and resolution

Team & Process Management

  • Develop and maintain team working agreements, standards, and tools
  • Track and manage team performance metrics
  • Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions
  • Facilitate conflict resolution
  • Empower teams to self-organize

 

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or 10+ years equivalent experience)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) – Required
  • SAFe certification is a plus

Experience & Skills

  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Business Analyst preferred
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts
  • Familiarity with development platforms and programming environments

  • Experience working in Agile environments with multiple teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
