Our West Michigan Client has a part time opportunity for an IT Disaster Recover (DR) Specialist. Working closely with the DR Team, you will focus on standardizing and maturing our Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) processes. Your primary mission is to guide technical teams through the DR lifecycle, ensuring a uniform approach to resiliency for applications.

responsibilities:
- Standardization: Generate and standardize templates for Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and DR exercises to ensure a consistent framework across the organization.
- Documentation & Artifacts: Assist teams in generating necessary artifacts and integrating them into the BCM system for a uniform approach.
- Communication Planning: Develop and maintain a consistent communication plan to keep all stakeholders aligned during planning and execution.
- Team Guidance: Act as a hands-on guide for various teams, answering process questions and helping them understand the path to achieving Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
- Agile Integration: Translate technical DR requirements into actionable user stories and examples within a comprehensive DR package.
How you will do it: - Collaborative Learning: You will initially partner with the Sr. Enterprise Architect and the IT Manager to absorb existing infrastructure knowledge and departmental standards.
- Consultative Approach: Rather than just auditing, you will talk to teams and guide them through the "how-to" of the DR process and artifact generation.
- Technical Translation: You will bridge the gap between high-level architecture and frontline execution by creating clear documentation and user stories.

Qualifications:Required:
DR Background: Proven experience in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution; however, an Architect-level background is not required.
Technical Literacy: A strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and general architecture.
Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with Azure environments and cloud-based architecture.
Agile Experience: Ability to create user stories and work within a framework that treats DR tasks as deliverable features.
Communication: Expert communication skills to ensure the communication plan remains consistent across all business units.
Preferred:
Experience working with Business Continuity Management (BCM) software or similar to track and store recovery artifacts.
Specific experience managing recovery strategies for business-critical applications.
