ASSYST is seeking a Senior Lead Full-Stack .NET Developer to support our client project in Tallahassee, Florida.
The position is Onsite.
Experience:
- Candidate MUST have a minimum of 15+ years as a lead full-stack developer, with broad experience working with development technologies including Microsoft .NET, (C#, VB.NET), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/Web API, ASP.NET Web Forms, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Knockout, and others), REST, XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS.
- Must have advanced to expert level knowledge in designing and developing scalable applications and integrating systems.
- Candidates with demonstrated production experience building and deploying full-stack applications on the .NET / C# / Azure / React technology stack will be given strong preference.
- Experience with Azure cloud services for application hosting, identity, storage, and integration is highly desirable.
Job responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom full-stack applications that automate client’s operations impacted by PALM.
- Participate directly in business discovery sessions with client’s product owners and business analysts to capture first-hand business understanding and translate it into working software.
- Partner with the client’s technical lead on solution architecture, technical design decisions, code review, and coding standards.
- Deliver production-ready features end-to-end — analysis, design, build, unit testing, deployment, and post-deployment support — within committed release timelines.
- Provide hands-on production support and incident triage for client -owned custom applications on a rotational basis, including root-cause analysis and resolution of production issues.
- Build and maintain modern, accessible user interfaces using React (or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks) and back-end services using .NET / C# / ASP.NET Core deployed on Azure.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations between client’s custom applications, Florida PALM, FM systems, and other enterprise data sources.
- Work with relational data models (Azure SQL Server and Snowflake) to implement and maintain solutions that support client’s reporting, analytics, and operational reporting needs.
- Drive iterative delivery, UI/UX improvements, and code optimization; collaborate with the technical lead to ensure consistency in coding standards, documentation, and deployment practices.
- Develop and maintain application documentation, deployment runbooks, and operational handover materials in accordance with the Department''s standards.
- Coach and mentor team members on full-stack development practices where appropriate, and collaborate with client.
Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and its application in building scalable, maintainable full-stack solutions.
- Strong proficiency in front-end development using React (preferred) or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Knockout), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles, to deliver intuitive and accessible user interfaces.
- Strong experience with back-end development in Microsoft .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core), RESTful APIs, and integration with relational databases such as Azure SQL Server.
- Demonstrated experience developing and deploying cloud-based applications in Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure services for hosting, identity, storage, integration, scalability, and reliability.
- Skill in creating seamless user experiences, including UI/UX best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG), and performance optimization for web applications.
- Experience with relational database design and development, including writing efficient queries and working with ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework.
- Skill in translating business requirements and wireframes into functional, user-friendly applications, ensuring usability and responsiveness across devices.
- Familiarity with data exchange formats (JSON, XML) and integration with APIs for dynamic, interactive interfaces.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies, including iterative design, rapid prototyping, and continuous delivery practices.
- Ability to create and execute test plans, including unit, functional, and UI testing, and ensure quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver production-ready features within committed timelines and to provide post-deployment production support.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, technical leads, and QA team members to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively as part of a small, high-trust cross-functional team.
- Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement.
- Ability to display professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.

- Ability to develop and manage information systems documentation in accordance with the Department''s standards.
- Experience in coordinating with Business Analysts and Product Owners to capture business requirements; ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language.
- Knowledge of financial systems such as PeopleSoft ERP.
Preferred experience:
- Knowledge of the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system and budget management.
- Knowledge of the Florida Department of Transportation Financial Management (FM) system, including Work Program Administration, Project Costing, Federal Aid and Federal Billing subsystem details and interfacing methods.
- Familiarity with the Florida PALM system, including chart of accounts, standardized business process model, and interface offerings.
- Knowledge of mainframe computer systems and supporting software such as Customer Information Control System (CICS), Time Sharing Option (TSO), and Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF).
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Work experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the degree.
