Network Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Las Colinas, TX. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity.

In this role, you will consult on and participate in moderately complex initiatives within Network Engineering, contributing to large-scale planning and resolving complex challenges. The ideal candidate will leverage a solid understanding of network functions, policies, and procedures to meet deliverables in collaboration with client personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Network Engineering
• Contribute to large-scale planning related to Network Engineering deliverables
• Review and analyze moderately complex Network Engineering challenges
• Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues
• Execute changes on the network via the change control process
• Assist in mitigating risk for the enterprise by proactively addressing capacity problems or system-related issues
• Participate in enterprise-level projects from an engineering perspective
• Responsible for designing, reviewing, implementing, testing/validating, and researching industry best practices

Requirements:

• 4 years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education
• 3 years of experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for a large enterprise environment
• 3 years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static), specializing in implementing DDoS mitigation strategies and configuring ACLs
• 3 years of experience with configuration of routing and switching on latest platforms and solutions such as Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product lines
• Operational and technical knowledge of network security controls including ACLs, VRFs, DDoS Virtual Connect, etc
• This position offers a hybrid work schedule and requires willingness to work on-site at the stated location
• Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Desired skills:

• CCNA, CCNP/DP or CCIE Certification preferred - Datacenter
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering
• Demonstrated skill with creating and/or updating technical design documentation
• Experience with scripting (YAML/Python/Ansible/GITHUB)
• Experience working in a Product/Agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products
• Experience and familiarity with Change control processes (ServiceNow)
• Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional

Pay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hour
