Automation/Robotics AI Engineer (contract)

Onsite - Redmond, WA

Pay: $58-$63 (DOE)

Job Description:

The main function of an AI Engineer- Robotics is to be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining AI and machine learning models. This specific role will be in support of Embodied AI and Robotics research. The role will consist of integrating simulation environments and benchmarking robotics models (~30-40%), training and evaluating models (~20%), and resolving technical issues such as debugging, patching, and supporting customer tickets (~50%). A candidate familiar with training robotic models such as vision-language-action models, diffusion models, reinforcement learning policies. In addition, familiarity with either simulation environments or robotic hardware is necessary for system integration.

Job Responsibilities:

Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects

Architect, design and implement our test automation infrastructure.

Develop training and evaluation pipelines using Azure Machine Learning

Analyze and refine training datasets for robotic and AI applications

Develop tools to provide fast deployment of novel algorithms in simulation and on hardware.

Integrate robotic control and perception stacks with simulation frameworks

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

2-4 years' experience required

A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

Experience with using simulation environments or robotic hardware

Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems

Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution

Background in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
