In this contingent resource assignment, the Software Engineer will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. The role requires reviewing and analyzing multi-faceted, long-term engineering challenges that involve unprecedented or intangible factors. The engineer will contribute to resolving complex situations while ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Strategic collaboration with client personnel is essential.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Define target architectures, reference designs, and long-term roadmaps
Lead architecture reviews and cross-domain integrations
Translate business needs into scalable, secure, reliable system designs
Deliver production systems in Python/Java on OCP/Kubernetes
Build LLM-powered features using Gemini, GPT, RAG, tool/function calling
Design evaluation frameworks (golden sets, offline/online tests, guardrails, SLIs)
Build agent workflows using LangChain and Google AIDK/Vertex AI agents
Embed security & compliance controls into pipelines and runtime environments
Decompose ambiguous problems, run spikes, and present trade-off-based solutions
Own and improve SDLC processes (DoR/DoD, branching, code review quality, testing, release mgmt.)
Define SLOs/SLIs, instrument services with OpenTelemetry/Prometheus
Champion SRE practices and incident readiness/post-incident learning
