Pay Rate - $45.00/hour to $55.00/hour
Role Overview
This contingent role provides hands-on engineering expertise and technical leadership within a modern software engineering environment. You will contribute to moderately complex initiatives, support large-scale planning efforts, and help resolve engineering challenges that require thoughtful evaluation of multiple technical factors. The role involves close collaboration with client engineering teams and relies on a solid understanding of engineering practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to moderately complex software engineering initiatives and planning activities.
- Analyze and troubleshoot engineering challenges involving multiple variables and technical considerations.
- Support the delivery of engineering solutions by applying strong knowledge of development practices and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with client personnel to align on requirements, design decisions, and delivery expectations.
- Design and build APIs and microservices.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers (required for Lead-level roles).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work experience, training, military service, or education).
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Java and/or React with TypeScript.
- 2+ years of experience designing and building APIs and microservices.
- 2+ years of experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership (for Lead roles).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with .NET, trading systems, or market data protocols (e.g., FIX).
- Experience conducting code reviews and ensuring production-ready code quality.
- Hands-on experience with E2E/UI testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver, or Cucumber/Gherkin (BDD).
- Experience building RESTful services using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and container platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of software architecture and solution design principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub-based workflows, and modern developer tooling (e.g., VS Code).
- Understanding of application security practices and vulnerability identification tools such as SonarQube.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00/hour to $55.00/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available for eligible employees.
