Location: Foster City, CA (Onsite)
Role Overview
As a Technical Program Manager, you will work cross-functionally with engineering leaders across software, hardware, vehicle engineering, and product. Your role will be to translate corporate strategy into tactical and detailed roadmaps that facilitate effective execution. This position is focused on ensuring that issues found in software and hardware are resolved in a timely manner by collaborating with partner teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with product teams to identify and triage product issues.
- Collaborate with engineering managers to identify solutions and drive them to completion.
- Partner with engineering leads to harden software and hardware to prevent new issues from surfacing.
- Highlight potential risks and proactively build out risk-mitigating actions.
- Build and deliver executive presentations on program status, issues, risks, and accomplishments.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent job experience is required.
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting is necessary. A strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects is expected.
Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with software development processes and proficiency in tools required to manage complex projects (e.g., Gantt charts, risk matrix, Smartsheet, JIRA) are required.
Professional Skills: The role requires an ability to build strong working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions. Candidates must have the ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience. Travel within the Bay Area is required.
