Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Jacksonville, FL that is seeking an Associate Actuary. This position supports core actuarial and analytics functions, including pricing, reserving, and advanced data analysis. The role works cross-functionally to provide analytical insight and decision support to teams such as underwriting, claims, finance, marketing, sales, and technology.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as a technical subject matter expert within one or more areas, including pricing analysis, reserving methodologies, data analytics, or predictive modeling initiatives
* Collaborate closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable business insights
* Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced team members, promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation
* Lead actuarial and analytical projects by developing studies using established actuarial and statistical techniques
* Present findings, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, including leadership, regulators, and non-technical partners
* Identify and recommend enhancements to rating and reserving processes to improve accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency
* Perform underwriting and rating research by reviewing industry filings, evaluating competitive approaches, and assessing variables and modeling techniques to improve segmentation and performance
* Coordinate with external partners, service providers, and regulatory agencies to support timely review and approval of filings
* Provide support during catastrophe situations when business needs require availability outside of standard working hours

REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to influence outcomes, build alignment, and support the development of others
* Strong planning and prioritization skills with consistent attention to accuracy and detail
* Ability to remain effective in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines
* Comfort navigating ambiguity, change, and unexpected disruptions while maintaining productivity
* Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative, professional relationships across teams and functions
* Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential, sensitive, or business-critical information
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate situations and apply critical thinking to develop solutions
* Experience producing well-organized, accurate financial analyses and reporting materials
* Capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within defined timelines
* Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to technical and non-technical audiences
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Strong SQL expertise with experience working on complex queries and data analysis
* Hands-on experience with actuarial methodologies such as pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling
* Working knowledge of programming languages used for analytics and modeling, such as Python or R

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
