Business Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Analyst in Oviedo, FL.

Summary:
Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence Business Analyst with deep expertise in Power BI and a strong ability to guide business stakeholders in using data to drive better decisions. This role goes beyond report development-you will act as a trusted advisor who helps the business define meaningful metrics, interpret insights, and apply data visualizations in alignment with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Data Advisory:
* Partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives, challenges, and key decision points
* Guide stakeholders in defining meaningful KPIs and metrics aligned to business goals
* Advise on how data and visualizations can be used to answer key business questions and improve outcomes
* Act as a thought partner to help the business move from reactive reporting to proactive, insight-driven decision-making

Requirements & Solution Design:
* Translate business needs into scalable BI solutions, including data models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
* Define clear metric logic, calculations, and data definitions to ensure consistency and trust in reporting
* Collaborate with data engineering teams to source, transform, and structure data appropriately

Power BI Development & Visualization:
* Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models (datasets)
* Build intuitive, user-friendly visualizations that highlight trends, drivers, and actionable insights
* Apply best practices in data visualization, UX design, and performance optimization
* Leverage DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques to deliver robust solutions
* Enable self-service analytics through well-structured datasets and reusable components

Data Analysis & Insight Generation:
* Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities

REQUIREMENTS:
* Data storytelling and visualization strategy (not just report building)
* Consultative mindset-guiding business users on how to use data effectively
* Strong business acumen and understanding of decision-making processes
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving
* Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption

Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
* Experience in financial, operational/manufacturing, or sales analytics
* Background in Agile or product-oriented delivery models
* Experience establishing BI standards or governance frameworks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
