Position overview
· We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with strong Tricentis Tosca and Vision AI expertise to automate complex railway control displays and operational interfaces.
· The engineer will develop and execute automated test cases for Positive Train Control onboard displays, back-office GUIs, dispatch screens, and simulator-based environments.
· This is a specialized automation position requiring experience testing applications where conventional web-element identification may not work, including embedded displays, Citrix, remote desktop, industrial control interfaces, and other graphical environments.
Key responsibilities
· Develop automated test cases for Positive Train Control onboard displays.
· Automate validation of display colors, warning messages, prompts, banners, and operational alerts.
· Use Tosca Vision AI to recognize and interact with visual interface elements.
· Implement OCR and image recognition techniques to validate displayed information.
· Automate back-office graphical applications and dispatch/control screens.
· Develop automation solutions for simulator-based test environments.
· Build reusable automation modules and maintain automated test suites.
· Lead the initial pilot automation build for the selected PTC software release.
· Execute automated regression tests, investigate failures, and report defects.
· Collaborate with the Tosca Architect to improve automation reliability and maintainability.
· Troubleshoot issues involving dynamic displays, graphical changes, and automation recognition failures.
· Document test cases, execution results, defects, and automation procedures.
Mandatory technical skills
· Hands-on Tricentis Tosca automation.
· Tosca certification.
· Vision AI or closely related visual/image-based automation expertise, with direct Tosca Vision AI experience preferred for a strong match.
· OCR and image recognition testing.
· Automation of non-standard graphical interfaces.
· Experience with embedded interfaces, Citrix, remote desktop, HMI/SCADA, or simulator environments.
· At least five years of automation testing experience.
Preferred qualifications
· Positive Train Control systems.
· Railway or public transportation software.
· Industrial automation and control systems.
· Aerospace, defense, medical devices, or other regulated systems.
· Automated testing of graphical alerts and status indicators.
· Experience validating visual behavior against functional specifications.
