Role Overview
The Residential Installation Technician's primary functions and responsibilities are to evaluate customer needs, design, install, and educate the customer on the use of their system. This role requires candidates with installation experience, preferably in alarm or telecom systems, who are customer-focused and possess a technical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the customer to determine optimal system and equipment to meet their needs.
- Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal reception required to establish service.
- Evaluate information provided and work with the customer to provide the best possible solution for their location.
- Identify opportunities to improve the use and functionality of the customer's system and provide those recommendations.
- Pursue safety practices to safeguard against injury and damage to property.
- Assure against loss of unused materials, ladders, and tools on a job site or office location.
- Collect all debris, patch any holes, and clean the site.
Required Qualifications
Experience: At least 6 months of installation experience is required. Experience with alarm or telecom installation is preferred.
Education: A High School degree or equivalent is required.
Licensing: A valid driver's license is required.
Skills: Candidates should have technical aptitude, strong verbal communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Alarm system installation experience.
- Cable installation experience.
- Completion of Electronic Trade School training.
