Job Description

We are seeking a Linux DevOps / Level 3 Production Support Engineer to support mission-critical trading applications within a financial services environment.

The candidate will work closely with traders, developers, and IT teams to manage production deployments, application support, release activities, and incident resolution. This role requires strong Linux troubleshooting, scripting, and software deployment experience, preferably within a trading floor environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux, preferably RHEL 8.

  • Trading Floor experience, preferably Fixed Income applications.

  • Experience with Azure and Azure DevOps.

  • Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.

  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting Java application logs.

  • Knowledge of software packaging, release management, and production deployments.

  • Familiarity with deployment automation tools such as Rundeck and Ansible.

  • Experience with job scheduling tools such as Tidal, Autosys, or Control-M.

  • Strong incident management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

  • Ability to create and maintain operational procedures and runbooks.

Responsibilities

  • Support production trading applications and deployment activities.

  • Work directly with traders, developers, and IT teams.

  • Perform pre-release and post-deployment validations.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and deployment failures.

  • Develop and maintain application start/stop scripts.

  • Integrate deployment processes with Azure DevOps and automation tools.

  • Support monitoring solutions such as Splunk, Grafana, and OpsRamp.

  • Assist with server provisioning, authentication, and access management.

  • Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) activities.

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

  • Familiarity with production support processes in banking or financial services.

Important Candidate Requirements

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • W2 ONLY – NO C2C / NO 1099.

  • Local NYC / NJ candidates strongly preferred.

  • Must be available to work onsite 2–3 days per week.

  • Candidates should be open to a face-to-face final interview.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
