The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a regional leader in industrial steam plant technology to identify an accomplished Electrical Engineer to serve as a Design Engineer. Operating out of the New Haven, Connecticut region, our premier client specializes in full-service combustion control, power plant equipment, and instrumentation systems across industrial, institutional, and utility sectors.

In this vital role, you will champion the design, programming, and implementation of cutting-edge combustion control and burner management systems. This position offers a rare blend of stable, high-impact technical ownership within an organization that remains agile enough to directly recognize and reward individual team achievements.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze detailed project specifications and technical documentation to guarantee absolute compliance with diverse client parameters.

  • Architect comprehensive control system wiring layouts and sequential logic diagrams utilizing automated drafting software.

  • Program advanced automation processors and intuitive touch-screen operator interfaces to execute precise operational algorithms.

  • Configure sophisticated loop controllers dedicated to regulating industrial combustion setups.

  • Develop high-performance supervisory control software solutions for plant-wide data acquisition and monitoring.

  • Select precise instrumentation components optimized for demanding industrial flow, pressure, and temperature measurement scenarios.

  • Advance business growth initiatives by delivering technical insights and expertise during active sales cycles.

  • Synthesize thorough technical submittals, structured operator training guidelines, and comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals.

  • Drive the physical fabrication, testing, and field deployment phases, which includes regional travel to oversee enclosure verification, field installation, system calibration, loop validation, safety limit auditing, and operational emissions testing alongside field engineers.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional engineering experience, specifically focused on automation deployment.

  • Education: A University Bachelor''s Degree in an engineering discipline.

  • Technical Mastery: Proven proficiency in the following specialized methodologies and tools:

    • Programmable Logic Controllers (specifically Allen Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix architectures)

    • AutoCAD

    • Control Systems Design

    • Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (including platform environments like Proficy iFIX and Wonderware)

    • Loop Controllers (such as Siemens 353, Preferred PCCIII, and Yokogawa YS1700)

    • Combustion Control Systems

    • Burner Management Systems

    • Electrical Engineering

  • Core Competencies: Strong technical acuity with a verified capacity to meet critical delivery dates. While prior experience with steam generation, industrial burners, and thermal instrumentation is highly advantageous, a strong foundational engineer can be trained on these specific industrial systems.

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel regionally to support field validation and commissioning events.

  • Sponsorship: Our client is willing to offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Base Salary: $90,000 to $150,000 annual salary (Commensurate with experience)

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
