Job Responsibilities:
1. Site-Specific Engineering & Design Translation:
- Partner with AV architects and lead engineers to interpret and implement AV standards at each site.
- Validate room counts, room types, and bill of materials (BOM) per location.
- Provide engineering input to ensure designs meet room intent, acoustics, network readiness, and hardware compatibility.
2. On-Site Installation & Configuration Execution:
- Oversee or directly perform installation, wiring, and configuration of conference room AV hardware.
- Configure Zoom Room systems, including controllers, schedulers, signage, and peripheral integrations.
- Integrate displays, DSPs, microphones, speakers, cameras, occupancy sensors, and control interfaces.
- Coordinate with Network Engineering on VLAN assignments, QoS settings, and connectivity validation.
3. Testing, Commissioning & Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test and commissioning plans for each room type.
- Perform functional testing (audio/video performance, content sharing, multi-site calls, automation triggers).
- Conduct detailed performance checks (latency, echo, noise levels, camera framing, and tracking).
- Maintain punch lists and remediation plans, driving issues to closure with vendors or internal teams.
4. Cutover Support & Hypercare:
- Provide on-site support during go‑live events, actively monitoring call quality and resolving real-time issues.
- Identify incident trends and work with vendors or engineering teams on root cause analysis and fixes.
- Ensure smooth handoff of each room after hypercare, with clear confirmation of stability and readiness.
5. Documentation & Operational Readiness:
- Produce and maintain key technical documentation, including:
- As-built diagrams and redlines
- Rack elevations and wiring documentation
- Device inventories
- Room configuration exports and backups
- Prepare handover packages for operations and the Service Desk, including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and escalation paths.
Job Requirements:
- 2-4+ years of AV engineering experience, with a strong focus on conference room technologies.
- Hands-on expertise with Zoom Rooms or equivalent conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams Rooms).
- Deep understanding of audio DSPs, microphones, speakers, camera systems, and control interfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and AV schematics.
- Experience collaborating with general contractors, AV integrators, Real Estate, and facilities teams during build-outs.
Education: Bachelor''''''''s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
