Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Power Commissioning
Location: Eagle Mountain, UT - Onsite

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable startup of power systems through hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy infrastructure in a dynamic, field-based environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support electrical commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities
  • Test and validate power equipment including switchgear, transformers, and generators
  • Perform and oversee electrical testing (insulation resistance, relay testing, functional checks)
  • Support pre-commissioning tasks such as loop checks and calibration
  • Validate power system studies and ensure readiness for energization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (construction, controls, operations)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues during commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and safety standards
  • Support integration of power generation and energy storage systems
  • Maintain documentation (test records, reports, turnover packages)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or commissioning
  • Knowledge of power equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators)
  • Experience reading electrical drawings and one-line diagrams
  • Familiarity with commissioning, testing, and startup processes

Technical Skills
  • Experience with tools like ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or MATLAB
  • Knowledge of protection relays and electrical testing equipment (Omicron, Megger, Doble)
  • Understanding of arc flash analysis and protection coordination
  • Exposure to SCADA/DCS systems and grid integration

Work Environment
  • Field-based role supporting active construction and commissioning sites
  • Hands-on work in industrial environments with strict safety standards
