Job Overview: The Communications Lead III is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that align with the goals of IT initiatives and AMI meter and system implementations. This role involves partnering with managers, directors, executives, and various stakeholders to ensure content is effectively distributed to employees and customers, driving engagement and enhancing the customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications, technical writing, and IT transformations.
Responsibilities: - Lead communications planning for major IT initiatives, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent messaging.
- Translate complex technical changes into clear, actionable messaging for diverse employee audiences.
- Advise project and IT leaders on communication strategy, timing, and risk related to change impacts.
- Oversee development and delivery of multi-channel communications (email, intranet, toolkits, signage, alerts).
- Ensure messaging aligns with enterprise standards, brand voice, and change management best practices.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals across IT, Corporate Communications, HR, trusted partners, and leadership.
- Monitor feedback and adoption risks, adjusting communication approaches as needed.
- Provide proactive, effective communications support, counsel, and strategic planning to the AMI management team.
- Partner with meter deployment operations and ombudsman to execute integrated communications plans.
- Plan, edit, and write content for various employee communications vehicles, including change network groups and stakeholder groups.
- Review and monitor mail-house vendor performance, implementing changes to improve performance as needed.
- Prepare, monitor, and update the AMI communications budget and project plan.
- Maintain day-to-day contact with agencies and contractors to manage timetables, designs, and deadlines.
- Prepare presentations, scripts, displays, visuals, and slides.
- Maintain materials and customer lists in compliance with record retention policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
- Six or more years of experience in corporate communications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
- Strong ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence across all levels and functions.
- Proficiency in AP style.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks for several projects simultaneously, often on short timelines.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with LKE projects.
- Change communication experience.
- Management experience.
