Job Description:
Senior Red Hat Architect to support advanced multi-cloud and OpenShift initiatives for a high-impact customer engagement. This role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to operate as a true domain expert, providing architectural guidance, solving complex problems independently, and advising on best-practice designs.
This is not a general support role. The selected candidate will work alongside existing Red Hat SMEs and is expected to contribute at a senior, consultative level with minimal oversight.
Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities-
Advanced SDN & Tenant Isolation (UDN / cUDN)
- Design and implement Layer 3 segmentation using OVN-Kubernetes to support overlapping RFC1918 IP spaces across multiple sites.
- Configure User Defined Networks (UDN/cUDN) ensuring strong logical or cryptographic tenant isolation.
- Implement dynamic BGP routing using FRR-K8s Operator, including:
- Advertising UDN-specific routes to physical Leaf/Spine fabrics
- Supporting multi-hop BGP configurations
- Managing advanced prefix-filtering scenarios
- Optimize CNI performance for edge workloads, including hardware offloading (e.g., SR-IOV, DPDK) within UDN environments.
Nested OpenShift (OCP on VMaaS)
- Architect and optimize OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt to host nested ( guest ) OpenShift clusters with minimal latency.
- Address complex networking challenges for nested clusters, including:
- Resolving double overlay networking scenarios
- Avoiding triple-encapsulation performance penalties
- Enabling efficient communication with the physical network
- Configure storage pass-through using Dell PowerFlex CSI, ensuring:
- Persistent volume availability to nested Kubernetes nodes
- Support for snapshot and data protection capabilities
