- Deep Kubernetes production experience
- Ansible (Tower/AWX required) – complex playbooks built from scratch
- Temporal or Cadence workflow engine experience
- Argo CD & GitOps, CI/CD (Jenkins preferred)
- Architect-level mindset with strong backend & systems knowledge
This is a hands-on architect role, not task-based DevOps. The team wants true builders who design, automate, and operate platforms end-to-end.
Senior DevOps Engineer / Architect
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer / Architect who is a true builder—someone who can design, build, and operate cloud and Kubernetes platforms from scratch. This is a hands-on, architect-level role, not a task-based DevOps position.
The ideal candidate has strong backend, systems, and architecture experience, with deep expertise in cloud automation, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code. You will play a key role in shaping scalable, secure, and reliable platforms used by engineering teams every day.
Important:
- Candidates must come from Pure SaaS or SaaS + Startup environments only
- No Banking, Insurance, or Healthcare backgrounds will be considered
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code
- Lead standardization and best practices for Terraform, Terragrunt, and Kubernetes
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, and platform automation
- Support and scale large Kubernetes adoption initiatives
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and repeatable infrastructure patterns
- Help design platforms with scalability, reliability, observability, and security built in from day one
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a standardized Terragrunt directory structure organized by account, region, environment, and category
- Refactor and migrate legacy Terraform stacks, including moving modules and resources across state files to reduce drift and downtime
- Architect cross-account and cross-cloud deployments using least-privilege RBAC and secure permission models
- Apply DRY principles through reusable Terraform modules and Terragrunt wrappers
- Enforce consistency across Kubernetes environments using Helm, Kustomize, Tanka, or Jsonnet
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and application teams to automate infrastructure deployments across environments
What We’re Looking For
This is not a task-based DevOps role. We are looking for a strong engineer first, with an architect’s mindset.
You should have:
- Strong coding skills (Python preferred, or similar languages)
- Experience across backend systems, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and ideally bare metal
- A systems-thinking mindset, designing for operations, reliability, and scale
- Comfort working at the intersection of software engineering and platform engineering
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Deep Kubernetes experience in production environments
- Strong expertise with Ansible, including Ansible Tower or AWX (required)
- Must be able to explain complex Ansible playbooks built from scratch
- Experience running Kubernetes workloads on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Azure
- Solid Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu)
- Experience with cloud-init, image automation, and Linux package management
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)
- Experience with GitOps and Argo CD
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions (including self-hosted runners)
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault and cloud security best practices
- Familiarity with Temporal or Cadence and HashiCorp Consul
- Strong troubleshooting skills in complex distributed systems
- Excellent communication skills across distributed teams
Nice to Have (Strong Plus)
- Experience with Kong (API gateway)
- Advanced Jenkins pipeline design and optimization
- NetScaler (Citrix) load balancers
- DNS architecture, especially AWS Route 53
- Monitoring and observability using Grafana
- Artifact repositories such as Nexus or JFrog Artifactory
- Experience in multi-region, multi-environment cloud architectures
- Ability to work across DevOps, architecture, and business stakeholders
What Success Looks Like
You are someone who:
- Designs infrastructure that scales without constant rework
- Automates everything that should be automated
- Understands both the application layer and the platform layer
- Raises the bar for reliability, security, and developer experience
