This is a 100% remote role; however, the candidate must report onsite on the first day at the Columbus, Ohio office.

Job Description:

The Technical Specialist 4 (TS4) will design and implement agency-level data engineering solutions, including data platform evaluation, selection recommendations, data modeling, and enterprise data architecture development.

This role serves as a senior technical contributor, responsible for shaping and advancing the agency’s data ecosystem through scalable, secure, and well-governed data design practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting enterprise analytics and operational systems
• Establish and promote data modeling standards, naming conventions, and design patterns
• Contribute to the development and evolution of the enterprise data architecture roadmap
• Support domain-driven and scalable data design approaches aligned with enterprise data platforms and governance objectives
• Provide architectural guidance to ensure solutions are reusable, interoperable, and aligned with integration strategies
• Make technical decisions regarding data platforms, analytics environments, integration systems, and data storage solutions
• Collaborate with IT Architecture teams, CIO, and IT Managers to align solutions with business needs and enterprise standards
• Evaluate solution designs, contribute to business case analysis, and recommend architecture improvements
• Work with enterprise partners to configure integrations with data lake, data quality, and data curation platforms
• Lead technical discussions related to design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of data systems
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Data Management team

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
• Data Modeling
• Data Integration
• Data Cleansing
• Data Classification
• Strong experience in enterprise data architecture and data engineering solutions
• Experience designing scalable and secure data platforms and analytics environments
• Strong understanding of data governance and best practices

• Candidates local to Ohio as onsite work may be required in the future
• Must be available to report onsite on Day 1
