Summary

Position Title: VS Code Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ _ Onsite

 Interview process: video interview to face to face (must face to face)

 Contract: 6-18 months

 

Must Haves

  • Senior-level engineer only, ideally 8–10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Deep VS Code extension development experience
    • Built substantial VS Code extensions
    • Maintained and published extensions
    • Strong understanding of VS Code architecture and Extension APIs
  • Strong developer tooling / IDE engineering background, not just someone who uses VS Code
  • Experience building large-scale, production-grade products or tooling supporting millions of users
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Python
    • Node.js
    • C#
  • Experience integrating IDE/developer tooling with:
    • Source control systems
    • Virtual file systems
    • Developer productivity workflows
  • Able to work independently and solve complex engineering problems
  • Strong enough technically to influence engineering direction/design

Major Plus / Differentiators

  • CVS → GitHub migration experience
  • Previous experience at Google, Microsoft, or a comparable large-scale technology environment
  • Built developer tools or IDE capabilities used at enterprise scale
