| Job Description | Role: Senior Scripting Consultant Skillset: Scripting (PowerShell/Power CLI, Python, Ansible, JavaScript) Remote: Yes Customer Location: Remote Required skills: vRO, Python, JavaScript (implied by vRO), VCF stack appliance knowledge, terraform dev experience, and CI/CD (specifically Jenkins, which is essentially Jules) would be helpful Nice to have: SALT Scope/Objective: Support of Configuration Drift management via Salt solution on ICPW by PSO on both VCF 5.2.x and VCF 9.x Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Scripting Consultant to support Configuration Drift Management initiatives within a large enterprise environment. The consultant will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions leveraging modern scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD practices. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement automation solutions for configuration drift management using SaltStack within enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Support and enhance automation across VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including versions 5.2.x and 9.x.
- Develop and maintain scripts and workflows using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, JavaScript, and Ansible.
- Work with vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) to build and manage automation workflows.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on Jenkins.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PSO, platform engineering, operations) to ensure consistent and scalable automation practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to configuration drift, automation failures, and infrastructure inconsistencies.
- Document automation processes, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience - Strong experience with scripting languages:
- PowerShell / PowerCLI
- Python
- JavaScript
- Ansible
- Hands-on experience with vRealize Orchestrator (vRO).
- Solid understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack appliances.
- Proven experience with Terraform development (Infrastructure as Code).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of configuration management and drift remediation strategies.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills - Experience with Salt (SaltStack) for configuration management and automation.
Scope / Objective Provide end-to-end support for Configuration Drift Management using a Salt-based solution within ICPW at JPMC. The role involves working closely with PSO teams to implement and maintain automation across VCF environments, ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency. Additional Information - This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep scripting and automation expertise.
