Job Description
Job Title: Senior Virtualization Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Virtualization Engineer to support a VM migration and Cisco server refresh project for a 6-month remote contract. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with VMware technologies (including vMotion) and a strong understanding of DMR Cloud environments. This role will play a critical part in both virtual infrastructure upgrades and hardware modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute VM migration efforts across virtualized environments.
Support and contribute to the planning and execution of a Cisco UCS server refresh. Design and implement virtualization solutions leveraging vMotion and other VMware tools. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless migration and server deployment with minimal downtime. Perform system optimization and ensure high availability in refreshed environments. Troubleshoot issues related to virtualization and hardware integration. Document procedures and provide post-migration/refresh support.
Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of experience in virtualization engineering. Proven expertise with VMware vSphere, vMotion, and related virtualization tools. Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS server platforms and hardware refresh cycles. Strong knowledge of DMR Cloud environments. Experience with large-scale VM migration and infrastructure upgrade projects. Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP). Experience with automation tools (e.g., PowerCLI). Familiarity with hybrid cloud and data center transformation projects.
