Oracle CPQ Functional Lead Consultant

Job Overview
• As an Oracle CPQ Functional Lead/Architect, you will be responsible for leading the functional architecture, design, and implementation of Oracle CPQ Cloud solutions for enterprise clients.
• You will work closely with business stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable CPQ functional solutions.
• The role involves ownership of the complete CPQ lifecycle—from discovery and design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post go live support.
• You will act as the functional solution lead and advisor, ensuring best practice CPQ implementations aligned with Lead to Cash processes and enterprise architecture standards.
Responsibilities
• Lead and own Oracle CPQ functional architecture and solution design across multiple business units and regions.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand quoting, pricing, discounting, and approval processes and translate them into CPQ functional designs.
• Define and validate CPQ functional scope including Product Configuration, Pricing, Discounting, Approvals, Document Generation, and Quote Lifecycle.
• Drive CPQ configuration design for CTO, ETO, DTO, and MTS product models, bundles, BOM based configurations, and guided selling flows.
• Work closely with technical and integration teams to support CPQ integrations with CRM/ERP systems.
• Review and validate functional solution designs, configurations, and overall CPQ implementation quality.
• Provide functional leadership, mentoring, and guidance to CPQ consultants and project teams.
• Support functional testing strategy, UAT cycles, defect triage, and production readiness activities.
• Ensure adherence to CPQ implementation best practices, standards, and documentation.
• Participate in release planning, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
• CPQ Functional Expertise: Strong understanding of Oracle CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) business processes and functional architecture.
• Oracle CPQ Cloud: Deep functional experience in Oracle CPQ Cloud applications and core modules.
• Lead to Cash Knowledge: Strong understanding of Opportunity to Quote and Quote to Order business flows.
• Functional Design: Hands on experience creating Functional Design Documents (FDDs), HLDs, and LLDs.
• CPQ Modules: Experience in Configuration, Commerce, Pricing, Document Engine, and Approvals.
• Integration Exposure: Functional experience integrating Oracle CPQ with CRM/ERP platforms such as Oracle Sales Cloud, Salesforce, EBS, Fusion Apps, JDE, D365, etc.
• Testing & Quality: Strong involvement in functional testing, UAT support, and solution validation.
• Best Practices: Knowledge of Oracle CPQ implementation best practices and standard documentation.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Oracle CPQ certifications are a plus.
• Communication: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Minimum 10+ end-to-end Oracle CPQ implementations
• Good to have Oracle certifications (CPQ certified Implementation specialist)

• Ability to produce clear, structured, functional and solution documentation.
• High adaptability to evolving business and technology landscapes.
Required Experience
• 10–15 years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of hands on Oracle CPQ functional experience
• 4–5 end to end Oracle CPQ implementations in a lead or architect role
