Summary:

·       We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise data infrastructure.

·       In this role, you will be the primary steward of our mission-critical database platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across multiple environments.

·       You will collaborate closely with analytics and engineering teams to transform complex datasets into high-performance data services.

Key Responsibilities

·       Data Orchestration: Coordinate the collection, normalization, and analysis of datasets across diverse data platforms to ensure consistency and reliability.

·       Infrastructure Design: Assist in architecting and building robust data service infrastructure, focusing on scalability and maintainability.

·       Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of significant database components, including specific schemas, domains, and key performance areas with minimal guidance.

·       Technical Leadership: Lead critical workstreams such as partitioning rollouts, performance remediation, and operational readiness audits.

·       Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement through the automation of manual processes and the redesign of legacy data infrastructure.

·       Operational Excellence: Enhance runbooks and automation; contribute actively to production incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies.

Requirements (Must Haves)

·       Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience designing and operating high-volume,
enterprise OLTP databases supporting mission-critical transactions.

·       Core Tech Stack: Proficiency in MySQL and Oracle environments.

·       SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL authoring and deep performance tuning expertise.

·       Operational Rigor: Proven experience with backup/restore validation, patch planning, monitoring/alerting, and incident response.

Preferred Skills (Flex Skills)
The following skills are highly valued and will distinguish top candidates:

·       Experience with Oracle Exadata systems.

·       Expertise in Data Guard (HA/DR, role transitions, and primary/standby validation).

·       Hands-on with GoldenGate for replication design and operations.

·       Deep understanding of enterprise MySQL deployment patterns, including primary/replica cross-site configurations.
