PROJECT MANAGER III
· The preferred Project Manager III must have prior transit experience and knowledge of the transit industry. It is preferred that the Project Manager III is able to provide or possesses the following:
· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
· Project Management curriculum is required.
· Requires seven to 10 years of Project Management experience, including complex transit projects including county, state, and federal projects.
· A minimum of ten years of experience managing Information Technology, transit construction, public works, or similar transit projects.
· Ten years of Vendor management experience including contract management and contract negotiations.
· Works under general direction of senior level management. Responsible for the management of multiple medium to large-size projects and programs. Manages and mentors project leaders and project management staff. Must have the ability to lead a PMO.
· Excellent Leadership, Communications (written and verbal), Ownership, Teamwork, Accountability, Conflict Resolution, and Analytical skills to successfully drive assigned projects to completion.
· The position is expected to research, conduct feasibility studies, recommend system solutions, develop enhancement plans, and related cost-benefit comparisons.
· Work includes supervising and coordinating the activities of professional and technical staff working on phases of large-scale automation projects.
· Must thoroughly understand the full project life cycle of a project.
· Capability to understand client’s technical and business requirements on a project.
· Management experience.
· Formal Project Management Training is required.
