Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Access Network Engineer - PON/FTTH to support the design, deployment, and operations of Blue Stream Fiber's access network. This role focuses on GPON and XGS-PON technologies and plays a key part in ensuring reliable, scalable fiber service delivery. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with OLT/ONT platforms, fiber access networks, and large-scale subscriber environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and support GPON and XGS-PON access network architectures
- Engineer and maintain OLT platforms, PON service profiles, and subscriber provisioning
- Configure and manage GEM ports, VLAN tagging, service flows, and QoS policies
- Support ONT provisioning, firmware lifecycle management, and OMCI-based configuration
- Troubleshoot service issues across OLT, ONT, and optical distribution network (ODN) layers
- Analyze optical metrics including TX/RX power levels, signal degradation, and fiber integrity
- Perform PON utilization analysis and capacity planning to support network growth
- Develop and maintain standards, documentation, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
Experience:Hands-on experience supporting GPON and XGS-PON access networks in ISP, telecom, or fiber service provider environments. Strong troubleshooting skills across both physical and logical network layers, with the ability to support large-scale FTTH subscriber deployments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a broadband, ISP, or fiber service provider environment
- Familiarity with OSS/BSS, subscriber management, and network monitoring platforms
- Experience documenting network standards and operational best practices
Work Environment
This is a
remote role, with a strong preference for candidates located in
EST or CST time zones to align with operations and engineering teams. The role requires independent work, strong communication skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation for this position is
up to $130,000 per year, based on experience.
