JOB SUMMARY:

The Team is seeking a hybrid Scrum Master/Software Engineer who will report to the Product Owner and provide servant leadership while contributing hands on Java development. Approximately 30% of the role's time will be dedicated to facilitating Agile ceremonies (daily stand ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and guiding the team through Program Increment (PI) planning, feature decomposition, and cross team dependency management; the remaining 70% will focus on designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining Java applications, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools for the Planner subsystem.

The ideal candidate brings proven Scrum Master experience (certification preferred), 3-5+ years of Java development in a missile defense or high availability systems environment, strong technical and people skills, and familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for government financial tracking as a plus. Success will be measured by timely delivery of sprint and PI objectives, high team engagement, rapid impediment removal, and high quality, mission critical software that meets performance, security, and reliability standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience supporting software engineering on DoD programs / missile defense.
  • Experience decomposing Agile features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria (PI and Sprint planning).
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
  • Experience leading Agile teams supporting complex DoD software systems.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
