Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.1.8 technical consultant to support a live MAS implementation. The consultant will work alongside the client’s internal Maximo administrator to address a backlog of ~25 enhancement and workflow redesign items focused on workflow modernization, role-based process design, Start Center optimization, security model updates, mobile capabilities, and funding/approval automation.

This role requires deep front-end and back-end MAS expertise, particularly in advanced workflow architecture, MAS security model changes, email listener configuration, and modern MAS mobile capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Redesign and modernize Work Order workflows from status-based to role-based routing
• Develop site-specific workflows (PPO, VMS, MTS, FNS use cases)
• Configure and optimize Start Centers, Portlets, and Inbox assignments
• Implement Inventory Usage portlet processing and backorder/reservation visibility
• Configure the email listener, communication templates, and notification rules
• Implement cost-based funding, planning, and approval workflow automation
• Configure security groups using new MAS administrator/super-user models
• Support mobile technician use cases and follow up on WO classification updates
• Implement GL coding, funding attribution, and disaster tracking fields
• Enforce governance rules preventing material fulfillment without funding approval
• Review existing configurations in MAS DEV and validate technical approach
• Provide effort estimation for backlog items
• Deliver structured knowledge transfer sessions and documentation

Required Technical Expertise

• Candidates must have hands-on experience in MAS 9.1+ (not legacy 7.6 only).
• Strong expertise in MAS Workflows (subprocess nodes, assignments, role routing)
• Advanced Start Center / Portlet / Inbox configuration
• Application Designer, Security Groups, SigOptions
• Email Listener and Communication Templates
• Inventory, Work Order, and Funding process configuration
• MAS security model changes (Admin/Super User model)
• BIRT reporting familiarity
• MAS Mobile / Technician mobile capabilities
• Data relationships, domains, crossover domains
• Experience converting business rules into workflow automation
• Knowledge transfer and documentation experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in public sector / facilities / physical plant environments
• Experience with funding governance, approval thresholds, and audit controls
• Prior experience in MAS 9.1 upgrades or fresh implementations
