We are seeking an experienced Product Owner - Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery for enterprise data initiatives while owning product vision, backlog, and stakeholder alignment. This hybrid role blends data domain product ownership with hands-on Scrum facilitation to ensure predictable delivery, high data quality, and measurable business outcomes. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analytics teams, and platform owners to deliver scalable and value-driven data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership - Data & Analytics Own and manage the product backlog for data platforms including Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, Cloud Data Warehouses, and Reporting. Translate business needs into clear user stories for data ingestion, transformation, analytics, dashboards, and data products. Define product vision, roadmap, and release plans aligned to business priorities and data strategy. Prioritize backlog items based on business value, regulatory needs, data dependencies, and platform constraints. Partner with Data Architects and Technical Leads to evaluate solution options, trade-offs, and feasibility. Scrum Master & Agile Leadership Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement. Remove delivery impediments related to data dependencies, environments, access, and integrations. Track and report Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down, burn-up, and release progress. Drive Agile maturity and consistent execution across one or more Data/Analytics teams. Stakeholder & Delivery Management Act as the single point of accountability between business stakeholders, product teams, and data delivery teams. Conduct requirement workshops and backlog grooming sessions with business and technical stakeholders. Provide transparent delivery status, risks, and dependency updates to senior leadership. Ensure alignment with enterprise governance, data quality, security, and compliance standards. Data-Focused Responsibilities Ensure data products meet enterprise standards for data quality, lineage, governance, and performance. Support UAT planning, execution, and business sign-off for data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics solutions. Coordinate across onshore/offshore data engineering, QA, BI, and platform teams. Ensure production readiness, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization for data releases.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of overall IT experience.
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master in Agile environments.
Strong exposure to Data & Analytics platforms such as: Data Engineering / ETL / ELT Cloud Data Platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform) Data Warehousing, BI, and Reporting
Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage complex dependencies typical of data programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Healthcare, Insurance, Financial Services, or large enterprise data platforms.
Scrum certifications such as CSM, PSM I/II, or SAFe Agilist.
Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and regulatory data programs.
Experience working in onshore-offshore delivery models.
Familiarity with modern analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, etc.).
