Application Developer (C + Oracle + Linux) With Healthcare Domain
Remote Role
Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs. Assists in the modification of company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet the needs of the client and/or end-user.
Gathers information from the system, analyzes program and time requirements, and prepares documentation to change existing programs.
Researches and analyzes existing systems and program requirements, under periodic supervision.
Analyze, design, and review design of applications and suites of applications to ensure that customer specifications are satisfied.
Able to create complex design documents and translate them into component-level designs to accelerate development.
Utilizes experience in development methodologies, coding documentation, testing methodology and industry standards to define and develop project requirements, functional specifications and detailed design of application solutions for clients.
Applies Gainwell and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of moderate to advanced complexity.
Develop strategy, design and data gathering approaches.
Designs programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
Writes specifications for programs of moderate complexity.
Assists in resolving production support problems.
Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving problems.
Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Identifies issues as appropriate.
Developing and executing regression testing strategies
Creating, maintaining, and updating technical documentation such as design and testing documents
Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
Remains abreast of and researches industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience in applications development and batch programming with some experience making changes to moderately complex batch business applications using C.
Experience with the following:
o Proficiency in C programming, including experience with performance optimization, memory management and debugging.
o Strong SQL skills, preferably using embedded in C, using an Oracle database
o Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting, process management, file systems
o SOAP and RESTful interfacing
o JSON
o Visual Studio Code or other IDE, including debugger tools
o TFS, Git or other versions of software
o Healthcare and Medicare systems experience is highly desired
Advanced understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and testing methodologies.
General understanding of Medicaid, HIPAA, and PHI
Experience with Medicaid claims adjudication
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer science or related field preferred
Three or more years of product design and support experience
Experience working with software design, software development life cycle, and development methodologies and implementation
Experience working with product systems design principles
Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
Experience working with company application development policies and procedures Other Qualifications
