AnaVation is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team and support our mission critical government customer in Hanover, MD. In this role, responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data solutions within the enterprise service management platform as part of a collaborative engineering environment. This position focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, integrating enterprise system, and enforcing strong data governance and compliance standards. The role requires hand-on technical execution and close collaboration with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality data solutions.

The Data Engineer will work closely with a cross-functional team, including the Architect, Developer, Business Analyst, and Cyber Security Engineer, to ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture, business requirements, and security standards. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in data architecture, system integrations, and enterprise data engineering, with the ability to operate effectively in a secure, government environment and contribute to a high-performing development team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines and system synchronization across enterprise systems.
  • Manage the configuration data repository as the system of record, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Design data models and structures aligned with enterprise service data standards.
  • Develop workflow automation and cross-system orchestration to support end-to-end processes.
  • Optimize data performance, storage, retention, and lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Certificates, Experience, Physical, etc.):

Clearance: Top Secret Clearance

Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience working as Data Engineer

Certifications: IAT II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)

Experience and knowledge on:
  • 3 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, data migration, or enterprise application integration.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems and migrating legacy data into ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing, transformation, and automation.
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting data pipelines and integration workflows.
  • Strong understanding of REST and SOAP API integration patterns and enterprise system integration concepts.
  • Experience working in Linux-based environment.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government or Department of War (DoW) environments.

Desired Qualifications:

Desirable Qualifications (Education/Certificates, Experience, Physical, etc.):

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI

Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years ServiceNow data integration/migration experience

Certifications: ServiceNow Certifications (CSA, CIS) or equivalent, AWS, Azure, SAfe Agile

Experience and knowledge on:
  • Experience with ServiceNow data integration and CMDB environments.
  • Strong experience with Import Sets, Transform Maps, APIs, and CMDB data structures.
  • Understanding of CSDM and CMDB architecture, including CI relationships.
  • Experience improving CMDB data quality and managing data validation.
  • Experience with IntegrationHub or Flow Designer for ServiceNow integrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms for data integration.
  • Knowledge of data governance, including validation rules and access control.
