Oracle DBA - Middleware (Oracle 19c Upgrade)
We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA / Middleware Administrator to support enterprise database and middleware infrastructure within a large federal environment. The role will focus on administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and upgrade of Oracle database and middleware platforms, including a migration and upgrade to Oracle 19c.
This hybrid position is part of the Enterprise Infrastructure and Applications Support team and supports the day-to-day administration, stability, and lifecycle management of Oracle databases and middleware platforms, including Oracle WebLogic and Oracle E-Business Suite environments.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Oracle database administration, middleware platforms, and enterprise application environments, with strong experience supporting Oracle upgrades, patching, and performance optimization.
This hybrid role requires a minimum of three onsite days per week in Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 operational support for Oracle database and middleware platforms in hybrid environments
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases including Oracle 19c
• Lead and support Oracle database upgrades (12c/18c to 19c) including planning, testing, and implementation
• Install, configure, manage, and optimize Web and Application Middleware infrastructure supporting enterprise applications
• Administer and support Oracle WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle BPEL, Oracle Forms & Reports environments
• Manage database connectivity and integrations between enterprise applications and backend databases
• Support application deployment activities on shared middleware platforms under approved change management procedures
• Monitor database and middleware performance, availability, and capacity
• Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, middleware services, and application connectivity
• Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance of Oracle environments
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures using RMAN and enterprise backup tools
• Perform routine system health checks, performance tuning, and log analysis
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles
• Work with application teams, infrastructure teams, and security teams to maintain system stability and compliance
